When is Dark Star Orchestra performing at Florida Theatre Jacksonville?
Dark Star Orchestra is scheduled to perform at Florida Theatre Jacksonville in Jacksonville, Florida, on December 2, 2026. Check your ticket details for the event's start time and entry information.
What kind of concert is Dark Star Orchestra?
Dark Star Orchestra recreates complete, historically specific Grateful Dead setlists rather than performing a standard greatest-hits show. The Chicago-formed band has played more than 2,300 concerts and is known for carrying on the Grateful Dead's live-music tradition. The exact historical setlist is typically revealed after the performance.
How long does a Dark Star Orchestra concert usually last?
Dark Star Orchestra performances typically run about three to four hours, with two full sets, an intermission, and an encore. Actual timing may vary on December 2, so plan for an extended evening of live music.
What songs might Dark Star Orchestra play?
The setlist changes from show to show because the band recreates a particular Grateful Dead performance. Recent repertoire has included songs such as ?Dark Star,? ?Bird Song,? ?Franklin's Tower,? ?China Cat Sunflower,? ?Deal,? and ?Box of Rain,? but these are examples, not a confirmed setlist for Jacksonville.
Are opening acts scheduled for this concert?
No opening act has been confirmed in the event information provided. Dark Star Orchestra's two-set format is the main focus of the evening; check the event listing again closer to the date for any schedule updates.
What are the best seats at Florida Theatre Jacksonville?
For a balanced view of the stage and sound, look for seats near the center of the orchestra or in a centered section of the balcony. Orchestra seats put you closer to the band, while elevated balcony seats can offer a broader view of the stage and its lighting. The best choice depends on your budget and preference for proximity or perspective.
Are there seats with a less direct view of the stage?
Seats toward the far sides or behind other seating areas may provide a more angled or distant view than centered locations. Review the available seating information before purchasing, and select seats that match your preferred sightline and price range.
How much do Dark Star Orchestra tickets cost?
Prices currently start around $40, with some tickets reaching approximately $150 or more depending on seat location, availability, and demand. Prices can change as the December 2, 2026, event approaches, and the total may include applicable fees. Check the listings on ticketsfloridatheater.com for current options.
